Selected projects

I have worked in teams building systems for these companies:

  • RTS (Keenfinity, formerly Bosch), 2023–2026. Intercom systems for broadcast and live production, including a protocol bridge for the NMOS standard. Web applications in React and TypeScript with Jest and Playwright tests, a serverless backend on AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, Cognito, CDK), as well as Bluetooth LE prototypes and real-time software for audio over IP.
  • Wärtsilä, 2022–2023. A serverless platform for managing edge devices and data collection units that replaced a legacy system: device provisioning and certificates in AWS IoT Core, remote jobs, API Gateway, Lambda, DynamoDB and a React console. The production version was ready in under 14 weeks.
  • hayu (NBCUniversal), 2020–2023. A serverless CMS for a streaming service that replaced a monolith: content curation, metadata enrichment (Amazon Rekognition) and promotional workflows. Lambda, Step Functions, DynamoDB, SQS, AppSync and a React console.
  • Sky, 2020–2023. Several serverless projects on AWS for television and streaming: the back end and a React management application for a platform that processes video analysis results (Step Functions, Kinesis, AppSync, DynamoDB), analysis of live sports broadcasts, extending the Sky Sports key match moments feature to Germany (with a migration to a new DRM provider and Kafka data sources), a prototype built on AWS IoT Core, and multi-account AWS deployments of web applications (CDK).
  • Sqippa, 2022. A short contribution to an IoT platform for building management: LoRaWAN sensors (The Things Network), near real-time alerts, a back end on Lambda, API Gateway and DynamoDB.
  • Bird Control Group, 2020–2021. Cloud back end for a fleet of IoT devices: users, organisations and permissions (Cognito), remote device configuration (AWS IoT Core), APIs and delivery (SAM, CloudFormation, Bitbucket Pipelines). A separate project: a multi-account AWS environment and an S3 data lake that AWS Glue jobs fill with data from an ERP system, with Power BI reports through Athena for devices in more than 70 countries.

Before that I spent over four years building back ends for global financial and technology companies at EPAM Systems, automated system tests for Ericsson at Ericpol, and started at ABB Corporate Research Center. In those projects I wrote Java and C++. I know both languages, but as a contractor I specialise in TypeScript and Python. More on the About page.

Billing

I work through my own company registered in Poland and invoice business to business, per hour or for an agreed scope. I issue VAT invoices.
